Cybersecurity Trainee, Buffalo NY

Overview

This role takes part in the Bank's Technology Development Program (TDP), a two-year program that builds technical expertise in Cybersecurity. Participants gain hands-on experience supporting two Cybersecurity teams over the two years, which exposes them to several cybersecurity disciplines while they develop technical skills, business acumen, and a strong base for a long-term career in the field.

Cloud Security Operations

The Cloud Security Operations team helps protect M&T's cloud-based technologies and services by supporting the security, governance, and risk management of cloud environments. Team members work with technology and cybersecurity stakeholders to strengthen cloud security controls, identify and address potential risks, and help ensure cloud platforms are adopted and run securely. Through monitoring, security best practices, and collaboration across the organization, the team helps protect customer and corporate information and advances the Bank's overall cybersecurity posture.

Primary Responsibilities

• Mentor with experienced technology staff to build in-depth technical skills in Cybersecurity.
• Complete a series of rotations over a set timeframe in cybersecurity disciplines beyond your original area, to understand how they are used at the Bank and how they work together to deliver solutions and services to internal and external customers.
• Determine your post-program assignment in one of the core areas through career path design, performance assessment, and interest.
• Understand and follow the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls in line with the Company's Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues that need escalation to management.
• Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
• Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points and any issues raised by external regulators, as applicable.
• Complete other related duties as assigned.

Scope of Responsibilities

The Technology Development Program is a rotational training program for individuals with a Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline. The program is flexible so the participant can shape their career and expand their career objectives. It combines career planning, technical and competency-based training, mentorship, and challenging assessments designed to accelerate career growth with the Bank.

The final compensation depends on the candidate's combination of knowledge, skills, and experience. The range covers all geographic locations, and the pay rate for your specific location falls within this range and is available from your recruiter.
