Cybersecurity Program

Overview

Participants in the Bank's Technology Development Program (TDP) take part in a two-year program that builds technical expertise in Cybersecurity. Over the two years, participants support two Cybersecurity teams, which gives them exposure to several cybersecurity disciplines along with technical skills, business acumen, and a foundation for a long-term Cybersecurity career.

Encryption Services

The Encryption team helps protect M&T's customers and corporate information by implementing and managing enterprise encryption technologies. Its work covers cryptographic key management, certificate management, encryption standards, and data protection controls across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. Team members work with cybersecurity and technology stakeholders to support secure solutions and strengthen data protection practices.

The team may use cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS, infrastructure automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Windows and Linux operating systems, and enterprise encryption and cryptography solutions.

Primary Responsibilities

• Mentor with experienced technology staff to build in-depth technical skills in Cybersecurity.
• Contribute to projects involving cloud technologies, infrastructure as code, automation, and cybersecurity initiatives.
• Complete a series of rotations over a set timeframe across cybersecurity disciplines to understand how they are used at the Bank and how they work together to deliver solutions and services to internal and external customers.
• Determine a post-program assignment in one of the core areas through career path design, performance assessment, and interest.
• Understand and follow the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls in line with the Company's Risk Appetite, and identify risk-related issues that need escalation to management.
• Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
• Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points and any issues raised by external regulators.
• Complete other related duties as assigned.

Scope of Responsibilities

The Technology Development Program is a rotational training program for individuals with a Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline. The program can be shaped around the jobholder's career goals and offers career planning, technical and competency-based training, mentorship, and challenging assessments designed to accelerate a career with the Bank.
