Who we write for
Students, new graduates and people with up to two years of experience who are looking for work in the US. A story belongs on the News Desk if it changes something for them.
How we pick stories
We follow news feeds from tech and business publications, company newsrooms, and US government agencies such as USCIS and the Department of Labor. We cover a story when it affects early-career job seekers: a company hiring or cutting jobs, a new graduate or internship program, a change to visa or OPT rules, or tech news that changes what employers are looking for. We publish a few posts a day at most, and we skip stories that are already more than a day old.
How a post is written
Software groups reports of the same event from different outlets. An AI model (currently Anthropic's Claude) writes a first draft from those reports and from our own job data. The figures about open roles come straight from our database, not from the model.
Before a draft reaches an editor, our software checks every number and every quote in it against the source reports and our data, and flags any passage that follows a source too closely. The editor then reads the draft against its sources, fixes what needs fixing, and approves it. Nothing is published without that approval. Every post says that it was drafted with AI assistance and reviewed by an editor.
Sources and credit
Every post links to the reports it is based on. We write in our own words. Direct quotes are short, in quotation marks, and credited to the person and the outlet. We do not republish other outlets' articles.
Our job numbers
The section on what a story means for job seekers uses the openings listed on talentdpro when the post was written. Employers add and remove jobs every day, so a company page may show a different number later.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we fix it and add a dated note at the end of the post saying what changed. Typos and broken links are fixed without a note. To report a mistake, email [email protected] with the link to the post.
Independence
No company pays to be covered or to have a post changed, and we do not publish paid posts.
