Orlando FL Hiring Mechanical Design Engineering Intern

Overview

Lockheed Martin is looking for a Mechanical Engineering intern to support the Orlando, FL site. The successful candidate will show highly innovative approaches to solving production and design issues.

This role involves assisting production and development teams, resolving technical challenges, incorporating engineering changes, updating drawings and assembly parts lists, and developing new designs and tools.

Responsibilities

• Create CREO layouts and detailed drawings for Interface Control Drawings (ICDs), components, sub-assemblies, assemblies, and integration test articles.
• Build BOMs (Bill of Materials) and create parts, assemblies, and design documentation within Windchill PLM.
• Work with the Integrated Product Team (IPT), suppliers, Global Supply Chain, and electronic packaging, optics, and structural/thermal/material analysts to ensure design excellence.
• Contribute to drawing releases, respond to Change Requests (CRs), generate Change Notices (CNs), and support change boards and design reviews.
• Perform design trade studies to evaluate cost, weight, performance, and structural/thermal benefits.
