Mechanical Engineer Intern

Lockheed Martin is looking for a mechanical engineering summer intern at its campus in Andover, Massachusetts. The role suits students who work in technical and engineering teams such as Mechanical Engineering during vacations and short breaks from college, while enrolled in an accredited degree program.

As a mechanical engineering intern at the Andover facility, you will support every part of the RF Product Life Cycle, including design, integration, verification, and production support. The team builds complex electronic systems for missile applications and other harsh military environments. You will work across cutting-edge design, hands-on production, laboratory testing, and product development, with exposure to the full path from product design to production delivery.

Desired Skills

• Ability to work with mechanical drawing standards and experience with detail, assembly, and installation of 2D drawings.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, such as GD&T, engineering drawings, machining techniques, Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Test (DFT), and similar.
• Familiarity with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) for thermal and stress analysis.
• Interest in working on electronic hardware such as electronic housings, circuit card assemblies, and wire harnesses (cables).
• Knowledge of Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) design and manufacturing methods.
