Mechanical Design Engineering Intern (TX)

Lockheed Martin is looking for a Mechanical Engineering intern to support the Grand Prairie, TX site.

The right candidate will bring highly innovative approaches to solving production and design problems. This role involves assisting production and development teams, resolving technical challenges, incorporating engineering changes, updating drawings and assembly parts lists, and developing new designs and tools.

Responsibilities

• Create CREO layouts and detailed drawings for Interface Control Drawings (ICDs), components, sub-assemblies, assemblies, and integration test articles.
• Build BOMs (Bill of Materials) and create parts, assemblies, and design documentation within Windchill PLM.
• Work with the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) team, suppliers, Global Supply Chain, and electronic packaging, optics, and structural, thermal, and materials analysts to ensure design excellence.
• Contribute to drawing releases, respond to Change Requests (CR), generate Change Notices (CN), and support change boards and design reviews.
• Run design trade studies that evaluate cost, weight, performance, and structural or thermal benefits.
