Northrop Grumman is seeking a Mechanical Analysis Intern to join the Space Systems Sector. This position is located in Dulles, VA, and the selected candidate will become part of the Eastern Engineering Space Division.

Roles and Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include the following:

• Performing static and dynamic structural analysis.
• Reviewing requirements for materials, structural systems and subsystems.
• Selecting appropriate technical information and data from applicable products.
• Determining the technical principles involved, identifying the path forward for design, and computing engineering characteristics to ensure consistency with specifications, design needs and the requirements of space applications.
• Releasing results as technical documents after review by senior team members.
• Developing innovative solutions and elaborating on design concepts.
• Evaluating completed designs with your supervisor and other technical groups, and making modifications needed to reach the most ideal design.
• Developing, coordinating and conducting test programs required to evaluate design work.
