Design Engineering Intern

Performs assignments in technical and engineering organizations (for example Electronics Engineering, Software Engineering, Facilities Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering) during vacations and short-term breaks from college while enrolled in an accredited degree program.

The Work

Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems is seeking a Summer 2027 Design Engineering Intern. You will take part in airframe design activities, including 3D part design. Work may include concept development, preliminary and detail design, and will be carried out in an Integrated Product Team environment alongside other engineering and non-engineering disciplines. The focus is on airframe preliminary and detail design projects, and may also involve engineering problem solving for manufacturing issue resolution and preparing technical reports and proposals.

U.S. citizenship is required because most programs and projects are ITAR restricted.

Who You Are

You are a creative, detail-oriented engineer with a strong knowledge of metallic and/or composite structures. You use CATIA V5/V6 or similar CAD tools and bring strong problem solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
