What You Will Do

As a Mechanical Systems Design Intern at Pratt & Whitney, you will:

• Help create and modify mechanical designs to meet project requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver engineering solutions.
• Support build and teardown activities to make sure designs are implemented correctly.
• Use engineering drawings and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Apply CAD tools such as Unigraphics NX or similar software to develop models and drawings.
• Work closely with engineering teams to keep projects on track.

What You Will Learn

• Build technical depth in design areas, including blueprint interpretation, component design and modeling, and tolerance stack analysis.
• How to engage cross-disciplinary teams on design tasks.
• How bearing compartments function and contribute to engine performance.
• How to communicate complex technical topics clearly to design and integrated product team members.
• How to independently plan and carry out the technical path for small design tasks.
