The Opportunity

The Summer Games is an internship program for some of the nation's strongest students. Its goal is to build a breakthrough idea or solution for one of our customers' most pressing, complex, and multidimensional problems while developing valuable technical skills. The competitive and collaborative program draws thousands of applicants each year. Interns work in teams that mirror a real-world startup accelerator, with each team tackling a different challenge project.

Throughout the Games, interns receive mentorship from senior leaders, solve problems using Booz Allen's products and engagement models, and work together in a team environment.

The summer ends with a final Challenge Cup competition and a presentation to senior leadership. One past winner worked on helping blind individuals navigate using new technology and built a business and market penetration plan. Other teams have developed an app that gives military commanders a way to track real-time and open-source information about developing situations, including sudden attacks, human trafficking, and the worldwide spread of disease.

You Have

• Experience with programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, C, C++, Assembly, Python, Perl, R, or Bash
• Experience with machine learning, data mining, statistics, or graph algorithms in academic or internship settings
• Experience conducting research and writing software
• Ability to produce technical documentation and create design artifacts
• Ability to work independently and in teams
• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
• Scheduled to earn a Bachelor's degree in a Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics field by Summer 2028 or Summer 2029

Clearance

Selected applicants will undergo a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Work Model

The company prioritizes collaboration, and employees working virtually are generally expected to keep their cameras on during meetings. Remote roles may still require some in-person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility. Hybrid roles require working from a Booz Allen or customer facility as leadership and the needs of the role dictate. Onsite roles are primarily performed full-time at a customer facility.
