Early Career Software Engineer

About the Team

Anduril's Air & Missile Defense Radar team builds tracking algorithms and software systems that detect, track, and characterize airborne threats in real time. Engineers work in small, focused teams to design tracking solutions that protect lives and critical assets. The work ranges from developing new multi-target tracking algorithms to building high-performance distributed systems that process large volumes of sensor data in milliseconds.

The team deploys production-grade systems that government and industry customers rely on for mission-critical operations. The role suits people who enjoy applying mathematics, software engineering, and signal processing to complex real-world problems.

What You Will Do

• Design and implement advanced tracking algorithms for novel air and missile threats, including multi-target tracking, track fusion, and discrimination techniques.
• Develop high-performance, real-time software that processes radar sensor data and maintains tracks on dozens to hundreds of simultaneous targets.
• Build and use modeling and simulation environments to validate tracking performance, measure system capabilities, and find areas for improvement.
• Work directly with radar engineers and system architects to integrate tracking solutions into end-to-end defense systems.
• Optimize tracking software for performance-critical environments where milliseconds matter.
• Explain technical concepts and trade-offs to cross-functional teams, program leadership, and customers to support informed decisions.
• Take part in customer demonstrations and field tests to confirm successful deployment and operational effectiveness.

Benefits

Anduril offers a comprehensive benefits package, available at little to no cost to full-time employees, covering health, recovery, and more. Equity grants are included in most full-time offers. Details are available on the company careers page.
