About the Team

Anduril's Maritime Division brings together experts in software, robotics, artificial intelligence, sensor fusion, and data analysis to build software and hardware solutions that significantly expand what our customers can do. The team is fielding the next generation of autonomous systems for demanding maritime operations. Anduril has brought to market an ultra-long-range, full-ocean-depth underwater vessel platform and a refreshed maritime vehicle and flexible manufacturing architecture that scales from small to extra-large vehicles.

Anduril is executing on billion-dollar contracts while also performing Robot-as-a-Service (RaaS) AUV operations. The product portfolio includes Dive-XL, Dive-LD, Copperhead, Seabed Sentry, and other unannounced systems that will together form a system-of-systems for end-to-end autonomous missions in the maritime domain.

What You'll Do

Robotics Engineers help deliver vehicle perception and planning capability built into our products. This covers systems analysis, sensor selection and integration, perception architecture, motion planning, health management, behavior analysis, simulation and test infrastructure, and interfaces with lower- and higher-level systems. Engineers are expected to take end-to-end ownership of their projects and work as part of a team across the full product life cycle.

  • Implement safe navigation, collision avoidance, and situational awareness systems that balance constraints and requirements in a multi-stakeholder environment
  • Build scalable subsystems including sensor processing, perception, tracking, motion planning, health management, anomaly detection, simulation, testing fixtures, and vehicle interfaces
  • Contribute to existing software components across Anduril, aiming for components reusable across multiple product lines
  • Apply computer vision, sensor fusion, and machine learning techniques to improve perception and planning on Anduril vehicles
  • Test and validate perception and planning algorithms through simulation and analysis of real-world experiment data, including evolving data analysis tooling
  • Work with software, mechanical, and systems engineers to ensure effective system integration and testing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experienced and proficient in C++ and/or Python software development
  • Familiarity with autonomous vehicle hardware and sensors such as radar, sonar, LIDAR, and cameras
  • Demonstrated knowledge of at least one of: computer vision, sensor fusion, SLAM, motion planning, machine learning
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders to define and implement validation and verification strategies for perception and planning modules
  • Experience with autonomous systems in the ground, air, maritime, or space domains
  • Experience with simulation tools such as Gazebo, Unity, or Unreal Engine for algorithm validation and testing
  • Knowledge of safety standards and certification processes for autonomous systems
  • Familiarity with systems engineering concepts
