What You Will Do

Join the Raytheon Software Engineering team. Selected candidates will intern with Raytheon during summer 2027 as part of the Raytheon Fellowship Program.

About the Raytheon Fellowship Program

• Open to students in their sophomore or junior year, or seniors pursuing a master's degree.
• Accepted participants will be submitted for a national security clearance.
• Participants may be eligible for a $10,000 signing bonus, plus an additional $10,000 signing bonus upon converting to a full-time employee after graduation (payable within 60 days of employment, subject to applicable withholdings).
• Participants will sign an offer agreement committing them to remain with Raytheon for at least two years after becoming full-time employees.
• Career growth beyond software is possible. Former software employees now serve as Vice Presidents across Raytheon businesses, and dozens of Engineering Fellows are recognized across industry as subject matter experts.

Raytheon's Air & Space Defense Systems (ASDS) strategic business unit specializes in multi-domain integrated air and missile defense, advanced sensors, space-based systems, hypersonics, effectors and cyber solutions. Within ASDS, Space Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance is a sub-SBU that delivers information superiority from space, multi-mission automation and orchestration, multiple intelligence (Multi-INT) and resilient operations, secure processing, and data management.

Software engineering interns for summer 2027 typically work on satellite ground systems and related software projects. Past work has included implementing AI/ML processing tools, developing software algorithms, modeling satellite systems, simulating systems to understand mission performance, performing system trade studies, improving software efficiency, and developing production software on an Agile software development team.

What You Will Learn

• Advanced software technologies and techniques, including multi-tiered architecture, AWS web services, and microservice software design.
• Modern DevSecOps and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery practices.
• Satellite ground system technologies.

This is an onsite role in Aurora, CO. Candidates may be asked to attend select interview steps in person at an RTX office, whether the role is onsite, hybrid or remote.

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued TS/SCI security clearance is required. Only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. An active security clearance is required after day one.
