The Machine Shop/Process Engineering Intern manages and monitors the manufacturing processes for carbon/carbon composite aircraft brakes. The intern provides hands-on leadership in identifying and resolving process issues that affect the product, and supports continuous improvement initiatives aimed at better product performance, lower cost and reduced variation. The role works directly with all levels of staff, from the production floor to senior leadership, to make sure the product meets quality standards while the site meets its cost and delivery goals. You will have the chance to work with a proprietary process and composite used in everyday flight.

What You Will Do

• Perform data mining and analysis to support root cause investigations and to justify or validate changes
• Write detailed technical reports and deliver presentations
• Observe and troubleshoot process-related issues and resolve them in real time
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction or process improvement
• Collaborate with and support other business functions as needed
