Winston Salem Hiring Industrial Engineer Intern

What You Will Do

As an Industrial Engineering Intern at Collins Aerospace, you will help optimize production processes and develop new solutions for First-Class, Business Class and other seating products. Your work will directly affect the efficiency and quality of operations.

• Assist in developing work instructions for manufacturing and production processes.
• Support setup and optimization of production lines to improve efficiency and productivity.
• Use 3D CAD software to create and modify models for production processes.
• Conduct time studies, analyze workflows and contribute to line layout development.
• Evaluate and select tools and systems that improve operational processes.
• Work with manufacturing, quality and engineering teams on daily challenges and long-term solutions.
• Support process improvement efforts focused on cost control, inventory management and production efficiency.

Preferred Qualifications

• A minimum of 60 credit hours completed by the start of the internship or co-op.
• Experience with NX and Teamcenter software.
• Technical experience from prior internships or co-op roles.
• Experience working in teams or prior leadership experience.
• Experience with mechanical design, build processes, line layouts and time studies.

Experience may come from on-the-job work, research, coursework or projects.
