About the job

Are you ready to explore aerospace and defense? RTX internships, co-ops and full-time careers offer a strong foundation for working on complex problems, building your skills and helping create a safer, more connected world.

The CT Powerhouse, Cogen and Energy Team generates electricity, steam and hot water for several Connecticut sites. The team also oversees energy use and assessments across all site operations and drives best practices for efficient energy use. The role involves working with internal customers, stakeholders, engineers, architects and construction contractors.

What You Will Do

As a Powerhouse Engineering Co-Op, you will work alongside experienced energy experts and project engineers on industrial facilities projects. Areas include writing request for proposal documents, engineering and design, scheduling and coordination, safety, field oversight, compliance, quality and project turnover.

The role requires walking across RTX Connecticut campuses and climbing stairs and ladders to reach several building levels. Many buildings are not climate controlled and can be hot or cold depending on the weather.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in Construction Management, Environmental Science, or an engineering field such as Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Marine or Environmental Engineering, and actively enrolled through the completion of the co-op.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Demonstrated academic success and involvement in extracurricular activities or groups
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Project, AutoCAD and CMMS software (SAP preferred)
  • Experience reading and understanding MEP (mechanical, electrical and plumbing) drawings

What We Offer

RTX values Safety, Trust, Respect, Accountability, Collaboration and Innovation. This position is eligible for relocation.

Hired applicants may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, an employee assistance program, parental leave, paid time off and holidays. Benefits depend on the business unit and whether the role is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may also be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation. Payments are not guaranteed and depend on individual, business unit and company performance.

The application window is expected to close about 40 days after posting, though RTX may shorten or extend it based on candidate flow and business needs.
