Role Overview

Lockheed Martin is seeking a mechanical engineering summer intern for its campus in Andover, Massachusetts. The internship supports technical and engineering teams during breaks from college while the student is enrolled in an accredited degree program.

As a mechanical engineering intern at the Andover facility, you will support all parts of the RF Product Life Cycle, including design, integration, verification, and production support. The team builds complex electronic systems for missile applications and other harsh military environments. The work combines advanced design, hands-on production, laboratory testing, and product development, giving you exposure to the full design lifecycle from product design through production delivery.

Desired Skills

• Ability to work with mechanical drawing standards, including detail, assembly, and installation of 2D drawings.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as GD&T, engineering drawings, machining, Design for Manufacturing (DFM), and Design for Test (DFT).
• Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for thermal and stress analysis.
• Interest in working on electronic hardware such as electronic housings, circuit card assemblies, and wire harnesses.
• Knowledge of circuit card assembly (CCA) design and manufacturing methods.
