The Future Talent Program offers Co-ops lasting up to six (6) months, each including one or more projects. These opportunities in our Research Labs can give you meaningful development experience and a chance to see whether Merck fits your long-term goals.

The Pharmaceutical Sciences & Device Development (PSDD) organization is a global R&D division within our Research Labs. It turns therapeutic agents into functional drug and combination products that benefit patients. The Device Development & Technology (DD&T) group, part of PSDD, works to discover, develop and commercialize inhaled, nasal and parenteral medical delivery devices for vaccines, biologics and small molecules that need challenging or unique delivery routes.

We are looking for Co-op candidates with strong academic performance, communication skills, teamwork and the ability to work in a multi-functional environment. Co-ops will join departmental and project team meetings to gain a broad view of the drug development process in the pharmaceutical industry. You will also present your research results in both oral and written formats.

During the Co-op you will work closely with, and be mentored by, an experienced pharmaceutical industry scientist on one or more research projects. There is one (1) Co-op position for 2027 at our Wilson, N.C. site, focused on device and combination product production and processing development technology.

This is a full-time Co-op position.
