Financial Pricing Intern

This Financial Pricing Intern role is designed as a hybrid position, with an expectation of working from an HPE office about 2 days per week on average.

We are looking for a motivated, analytically minded intern to join our Services Pricing team. The internship offers hands-on experience in pricing strategy, financial analysis, data analytics, and business decision-making while working alongside experienced professionals in pricing, finance, product management, sales, and operations.

The intern will support the development, analysis, and optimization of services pricing and learn how pricing decisions affect customer value, revenue, profitability, and growth. Professional development is a key part of the program, with practical training in Microsoft Excel, financial analysis, pricing fundamentals, business analytics, and presenting financial insights.

Key Responsibilities

Pricing and Financial Analysis

• Help analyze pricing, costs, discounts, revenue, and margins.
• Support pricing evaluations for services offerings and business opportunities.
• Help build financial models that show the impact of different pricing scenarios.
• Analyze historical pricing and financial data to find trends and opportunities.

Excel and Data Analytics

• Receive hands-on Excel training and apply those skills to real business projects.
• Build experience with formulas, PivotTables, XLOOKUP, charts, data organization, and basic financial modeling.
• Help maintain pricing spreadsheets, reports, and analytical tools.
• Create clear charts and summaries that communicate findings to business stakeholders.

Market and Competitive Analysis

• Help with market research and competitive pricing analysis.
• Evaluate how services offerings and pricing compare with market alternatives.
• Research industry trends that could influence customer demand, pricing, and strategy.

Pricing Strategy Support and Collaboration

• Support ongoing services pricing initiatives and projects.
• Help document pricing assumptions, methodologies, and recommendations.
• Work with team members across pricing, finance, product management, sales, marketing, and operations.
• Take part in business meetings, pricing reviews, and preparing presentations for internal stakeholders.

Internship Training and Development

This is a learning opportunity, and prior professional pricing experience is not required. Training will cover:

• Microsoft Excel: formulas, XLOOKUP, PivotTables, charts, data analysis, and financial modeling
• Finance Fundamentals: revenue, cost, gross margin, contribution margin, and profitability
• Pricing Fundamentals: pricing methodologies, discounting, competitive analysis, and value-based pricing
• Business Analytics: identifying trends, evaluating scenarios, and turning data into recommendations
• Business Communication: presenting analytical findings clearly to business stakeholders
