Join Amgen's Mission of Serving Patients

At Amgen, our shared mission is to serve patients living with serious illnesses, and it drives everything we do.

Since 1980, we have helped pioneer biotech in the fight against the world's toughest diseases. We focus on four therapeutic areas: Oncology, Inflammation, General Medicine, and Rare Disease, and reach millions of patients each year. Our pipeline covers cancer, heart disease, inflammatory conditions, rare diseases, and obesity and obesity-related conditions. As part of the Amgen team, you will help research, manufacture, and deliver innovative medicines that help people live longer, fuller, happier lives.

Our award-winning culture is collaborative, innovative, and science based. If you enjoy challenges and the opportunities within them, you will thrive here.

What You Will Do

During this program, you will be an integral member of the R&D Strategy & Performance Excellence (SPx) team, part of the R&D Execution, Operations, and Strategy (EOS) organization. The team develops and executes R&D strategy and roadmap, leads functional transformation, continuous improvement, and performance management across all R&D functions, and delivers business results that drive R&D productivity and operational excellence globally.

Your work will be highly collaborative across multiple functions and levels, including Research & Development, Chief Medical Office, and others. You will use your analytical, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to work in teams, identify problems, conduct research, develop recommendations through qualitative and quantitative analysis, and deliver final projects in one of the following areas:

  • Strategic Transformation: Working with cross-functional teams to drive end-to-end transformations, including digital transformation, cultural shifts, and process improvements. This includes securing executive sponsorship, structured decision making, and effective change management.
  • Capability Building: Helping develop the skills, knowledge, and competencies of employees so they can meet current and future business challenges. This includes training programs, leadership development, and talent management strategies.
  • Business Performance Excellence: Contributing to continuous improvement by implementing leading practices, optimizing operations, and ensuring high efficiency, quality, and shareholder satisfaction. This often involves Lean, Six Sigma, or Total Quality Management.
