The Opportunity

The selected candidate will join the Life Service Business Process Owner team. They will work with other BPOs to own processes, controls, KC articles and more in support of the In-force Life Co Products.

Working within defined guidelines and a framework, this role helps develop and optimize business process solutions for clients. It also supports the team in aligning processes with the overall experience strategy and vision.

This job profile is a Sensitive Position, meaning the role can conduct in-scope activities involving the movement of USAA or Member funds under the Enterprise Sensitive Positions Mandatory Time-Away Compliance Policy. Employees in Sensitive Positions must complete a Mandatory Time-Away (MTA) requirement of 10 consecutive business days each calendar year.

This role requires being in the office 4 days per week. Relocation assistance is not available.

What you'll do

• Develops, sustains and manages defined business processes using a structured approach.
• Applies foundational business knowledge and helps align deliverable processes and capabilities with business needs.
• Gathers information and conducts research on process issues and activities, and helps the team monitor overall process health.
• Identifies, owns, executes, enhances and aligns controls to mitigate operational and compliance risks for owned processes.
• Follows management routines and creates reporting that shows the state of process performance. Serves as a resource to the team for developing communication plans.
• Keeps up with emerging technologies and evaluates business processes to lead continuous improvement efforts.
• Leads solution development, including business case and benefits substantiation, and drives business requirements for process improvement initiatives.
• Ensures risks tied to business activities are identified, measured, monitored and controlled in line with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What sets you apart

• 2+ years of experience serving members at USAA in Life Insurance, Investments and/or Advocacy
• 2+ years executing management routines and creating reporting for process monitoring and performance
• 2+ years developing communication plans
• Experience supporting team members in a fast-paced operational environment
