What You Will Do

The Tactical, Communications, and Maintenance Applications (TCMA) team in Huntsville, Alabama is offering opportunities for students who want to grow their technical skills on complex programs within a fast-paced avionics business area. Cross-functional engineering teams work in an Agile environment focused on designing and developing software-only products. The team builds avionics solutions for fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft, including the integration of radios and surveillance equipment for domestic and international military customers.

You will join the TCMA team as a software engineering intern. You will design and implement software engineering processes and activities using Agile methods.

• Design, implement, and evaluate software in Ada, C++, and Python within an Agile framework
• Conduct multidisciplinary research and work with other engineers on planning, design, and development of military technology
• Carry out multiple tasks independently with support from a mentor
• Implement requirements, detailed design, software, integration, and verification following software development processes
• Complete tasks according to the program schedule and work with teammates to make sound decisions
• Learn new technologies, stay self-motivated, and contribute to a positive work environment

This role is onsite. Candidates may be asked to attend some interview steps in person at an RTX office, whether the role is onsite, hybrid or remote.
