Software Engineering Intern

This role performs assignments in technical and engineering organizations (such as Electronics Engineering, Software Engineering, Facilities Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering) during vacations and short-term breaks from college. Candidates are typically considered seniors.

We are looking for a talented summer intern who is currently pursuing a degree at an accredited college or university and will be given work related to that degree area. Acceptable programs include information technology related fields such as Mathematics, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Information Sciences and Technology. Basic skills include knowledge of, experience with, and a desire to learn software development and software testing. Candidates must be able to work within a team environment under the supervision of senior software engineers.

This position calls for strong problem-solving skills focused on software development and integration in support of the United States Air Force's Operational Real-time Combat Analysis (ORCA) and JASSM Enterprise Management System (JEMS) programs. The intern will work on an agile development team and support elements of the design and development effort. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded software developer with broad experience and a focused interest and demonstrable skills in web application design, development, and testing.

Responsibilities include coordinating and executing tasks for a tiered web application, including GUI prototyping, external web service integration, development of new web services, design of the logic layer, SQL database integration, and IIS hosting. The role also requires strong technical writing skills and an understanding of system and software engineering principles.

The intern will contribute to the design and development of data management and visualization solutions, from requirements development and planning through full implementation, testing and integration, deployment, and operations and maintenance. Work location is King of Prussia, PA, with virtual options available.
