Software Engineering Co-op (Spring/Summer 2027)

What You Will Do

This is a full-time, Monday through Friday co-op session running January through August, including the Spring semester. Students are expected to take a semester off from coursework to fully take part in this working mentorship.

• Work with a team of Systems and Software engineers to design, develop, and test software features for solutions integrated into helicopters and planes.
• Apply soft skills (leadership, communication, coordination, proactiveness) in a fast-paced setting that delivers quality, timely products to internal and external customers.
• Travel domestically and internationally as needed (less than 10%).

What You Will Learn

• Build knowledge of Software Engineering and Flight Management Systems.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM), and actively enrolled through the end of the internship/co-op session.
• At least 30 credit hours completed by the start of the co-op session.
• Experience with C, C++, Ada, and/or Python.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Ability to draft system and/or software requirements.
• Pilot or avionics experience (e.g., private pilot, aircraft maintenance, DO-178 certification).
• Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.
