Are you ready to explore aerospace and defense? RTX offers internships, co-ops and full-time careers that help you work on complex problems, build your skills and help create a safer, more connected world.
Pratt & Whitney is looking for an Intern - Externals Design to support the Mechanical Systems, Externals, & Nacelles (MSEN) Engineering organization. You will carry out design tasks, field investigations, development engine test support and production engine assembly support.
The MSEN organization designs, develops and supports in-service power transmission systems, bearing compartments and rotor support, oil and thermal management systems, engine externals packaging and nacelles for commercial and military engines. Key disciplines include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, Product Definition and System Modeling.
External hardware includes components such as tubes, brackets, electrical harnesses and mounting structures packaged on the outside of the engine. Externals Designers interface with every module of a Pratt & Whitney gas turbine engine and integrate lubrication, electrical, fuel and air systems. They also help customer support teams troubleshoot operational engines and return them to service, and work with overhaul shops to investigate findings and set part limits for continued service.
Engineering interns at Pratt & Whitney work on challenging, meaningful projects across the business. The intern program helps you understand the aerospace industry and learn about the company and its operations.
