Texas Instruments is looking for a Layout Design Intern to join its team. You will work on a team that creates semiconductors used in advanced technologies such as smartphones, cars, satellites, robotics and many other applications. You will develop and prepare multi-dimensional layouts and detailed drawings of semiconductor devices from schematics and related geometry supplied by design engineering.

About the Job

This position involves creating and managing integrated circuit (IC) layouts from start to finish. Using CAD software, you will floorplan, design, implement and verify analog integrated circuits. You will support design engineers in meeting goals for precision, speed, area, reliability, power and ESD requirements. You will also work with PE/Packaging engineers to ensure reliable production capability and proper data preparation for fab hand-off, documentation and archiving.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Collaborating with Analog and Digital design teams and the global layout design community
• Applying manufacturing rules to build layouts that are robust and area-efficient
• Writing layout specifications, checking dimensions and verifying completed artwork
• Verifying layouts comply with Design Rule Checks (DRCs) and Electrical Rule Checks (ERCs)
• Taking part in layout design reviews
• Creating design flow automation
