Product Yield Software Engineer Intern

As an Intern Product Yield Enhancement (PYE) Software Engineer at Micron Technology, you will help build software and automation tools that let engineers analyze semiconductor manufacturing and product data more efficiently. PYE engineers work across Research and Development, Manufacturing, Product Engineering, and Global Quality to move next-generation devices from design to mass production.

In this software-focused role, you will work alongside PYE engineers to build practical tools that turn large, complex engineering datasets into useful information. Projects may include data processing and visualization, engineering workflow automation, web-based tools, AI-assisted engineering applications, and improvements to existing PYE software systems. This is a 3-month internship that gives you a hands-on project applying software development skills to real semiconductor manufacturing problems.

Responsibilities

Your job duties may include:

• Developing and improving software tools that PYE engineers use for engineering analysis and decision-making.
• Creating automation to process, analyze, and visualize semiconductor manufacturing and product data, including finding patterns, trends, and relationships in large engineering datasets.
• Developing scripts, applications, dashboards, reports, or web-based engineering tools.
• Exploring practical uses of AI-assisted engineering and software development.
• Improving engineering workflows through automation and software integration, and debugging, testing, documenting, and maintaining software used by engineering teams.
• Working with PYE engineers to understand engineering problems and turn them into effective software solutions.
• Presenting project results and demonstrating completed tools to engineers and management.
