Software Engineer Intern

This internship position is with the Space sector in Azusa, CA. The intern will join the Advanced Mission and Space Processing Operating Unit (AMSP), whose work includes:

• Protecting warfighters, missile defeat, space control and cyber defense
• Space and multi-INT data fusion with sensor tracking algorithms
• Data-driven organizations using artificial intelligence and machine learning
• Credible wargames, exercises and mission planning
• Sensor models, simulators and analysis
• Massless payloads and edge processing
• Decision-making in data-poor environments

Roles and Responsibilities

Software engineering interns support the design, development, documentation, testing, integration and debugging of software written in various languages, with an emphasis on C++ object-oriented programming. Interns help ensure software standards are met and collaborate with diverse teams across disciplines in a dynamic environment. Continued growth in software and engineering skills is expected, along with a drive to solve challenges.

Interns get learning opportunities, exposure to a wide range of projects and customers, and a collaborative workplace. The company is looking for self-motivated, proactive and goal-oriented people.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous internship, co-op, research, lab or substantial class project experience
• Familiarity with Agile development practices
• Exposure to testing, debugging and code reviews
• Coursework or project experience in web development, embedded systems, cybersecurity, AI/ML or distributed systems

Intern Pay

Pay is standardized based on graduation date, geographic location cost of labor, and whether the internship is technical or administrative. Bachelor's level pay ranges from $21.50 to $33.50 per hour, and Master's level pay ranges from $30.30 to $41.00 per hour.
