Marsh Early Career Program Summer Internship

Marsh is looking for talented people to join its Early Career Program Summer Internship within the Risk business, on the Insurer Consulting Group (ICG) team. The role is based in New York with an anticipated start in June 2027. It is hybrid, with at least three days per week in the office.

Summer interns work for 10 weeks alongside senior advisors and brokers to help clients identify risks to their people, property, and financial and strategic goals. The program offers hands-on experience in risk management and insurance broking, a vibrant cohort community, a dedicated program team, learning and development opportunities, a mentorship program, exposure to senior leaders, and networking. Interns finish with a summer capstone presentation to their team and senior leadership. Exceptional interns may be offered a place in Marsh's full-time program.

Brokerage Practice

Within Marsh Risk, the Brokerage Practice helps clients manage and reduce risk in real-world situations such as medical pandemics, music festival liabilities, and financial scandals. You will work with clients to assess risks, build relationships with insurance companies, and secure competitive insurance quotes using your negotiation skills.

The Team

ICG is the primary day-to-day point of contact for designated insurance carrier clients. The team manages correspondence and projects to completion, strengthens account relationships, and acts as a liaison between carriers, internal teams, clients, and vendors. Colleagues build subject matter expertise and lead large-scale strategic projects.

What You Will Do

  • Build relationships and learn ICG's business across Marsh and with insurance carriers.
  • Develop familiarity with company and carrier products and operations.
  • Research client businesses, industry trends, and market developments to support team and client discussions.
  • Work with brokers and teams to support communication and coordination with clients, carriers, and internal partners.
  • Support day-to-day projects while building knowledge of insurance markets, client service, and risk management.
  • Take part in team meetings, client discussions, and learning opportunities.
  • Contribute to special projects and team initiatives throughout the internship.

Application Requirements

Applicants must upload a resume and a cover letter, both required, in PDF format and no more than two pages each. The cover letter should answer questions about your interest in insurance broking, your interest in ICG, and a time you worked with someone to understand their needs and used analysis or research to help find a solution.
