Overview

Summer Interns complete a 10 week internship focused on professional development, career growth and building the skills needed to succeed. Interns take part in projects and department initiatives that speed up career growth and help shape the future of the Bank.

As an intern, you will get exposure to other departments through guest speakers and industry leaders, along with a built-in peer network and priority consideration for full time opportunities throughout the Bank.

Primary Responsibilities

• Complete entry-level duties and responsibilities specific to your assigned area of the Bank.
• Make sure your activities follow internal policies and external regulations as they apply.
• Understand and follow the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in line with the Company's Risk Appetite. Flag risk-related issues that need escalation to management.
• Help design, implement, maintain and improve internal controls that reduce risk on an ongoing basis. Flag risk-related issues that need escalation to management.
• Support an environment of belonging that reflects the M&T Bank brand.
• Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely follow-through on internal and external audit points and any issues raised by external regulators where applicable.
• Complete other related duties as assigned.
