Engineering Projects Intern

Leidos, a defense, intelligence, and technology company, is looking for motivated technology students for its Summer 2027 Internship Program (starting May 2027). As an Engineering Projects Intern, you will join the Digital Sector and support the DIET engineering team on the Defense Enclave Services (DES) contract. This is a 100% remote position with a primary focus on U.S. Eastern time zones, giving you hands-on experience in project management.

As an intern on the DIET team, you will support multiple engineering projects. You will take an active part in schedule management, change management, team management, and other project management duties. You will also rotate through engineering support duties to understand the full scope of work from start to finish.

Primary Responsibilities

• Support the project manager across multiple engineering projects.
• Assist with change requests and maintenance window planning.
• Assist with network Point of Contact (POC) coordination.
• Provide Jira task management support to the project manager.
• Help Subject Matter Expert (SME) teams prepare and upload Contract Deliverables (CDRLs).
• Organize and triage issues for SME teams.
• Help coordinate and communicate engineering testing activities.
• Rotate through engineering support duties to understand the phases of design, test, migration, and operations.
