Cloud Engineering Intern

Leidos, a defense, intelligence, and technology company, is looking for motivated technology students for its Summer 2027 Internship Program (starting May 2027). As a Cloud Engineering Intern, you will join the Digital Sector and support the DIET engineering team on the Defense Enclave Services (DES) contract. This position is 100% remote, with a primary focus on U.S. Eastern time zones, and offers hands-on experience in project management.

If you are passionate about network engineering and cloud modernization, this role puts you on the DIET team. You will help with engineering projects that modernize the DODNet through network engineering and cloud modernization work. Projects include modernizing the DODNet wireless LAN and migrating services to the DODNet Azure Cloud.

Primary Responsibilities

• Support the project manager across multiple engineering projects.
• Assist with configuring services in the Azure cloud.
• Assist with implementing network modernization policy updates.
• Help Subject Matter Expert (SME) teams prepare and upload Contract Deliverables (CDRLs).
• Organize engineering project tasks and triage issues for the SME teams.
• Assist with coordinating and communicating about engineering testing activities.
• Rotate through engineering support duties to understand the design, test, migration, and operations phases.
