Data Engineering Intern in Shiloh, IL

Leidos, a defense, intelligence, and technology company, is looking for motivated data and software students for its Summer 2027 Internship Program (starting May 2027). As a Data Engineering & Analytics Intern, you will join the Digital Sector on the Global Solutions Management - Operations II (GSM-O II) contract at Scott AFB, IL. The role offers hands-on experience with large-scale data visualization, automation, and software development in support of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA).

Your Opportunity

Our team helps lead DISA's move to next-generation platforms. You will work directly with the Operational Engineering and Innovations teams, learning how to build dynamic dashboards, test enterprise-level software, and develop automation that affects the security and efficiency of the global Defense Information System Network (DISN).

What You'll Do (Potential Projects and Learning Opportunities)

• Help create Kibana visualizations and dashboards that give network operators and leadership critical information.
• Gain exposure to enterprise data pipelines by helping deploy, configure, and test Kafka and Elastic clusters.
• Work with an Agile team, attend daily scrums, and demonstrate working software.
• Build skills in troubleshooting and resolving infrastructure and system-level issues.
• Design, develop, and test software written in Python, JavaScript, and SQL.
