Career Programs, Non-LDP Intern/Co-Op, Career Program
J&J Innovative Medicine Research & Development, L.L.C, a member of the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies, is recruiting Statistics & Decision Sciences Summer Interns for its Raritan, NJ, Titusville, NJ, Spring House, PA, and La Jolla, CA sites. Virtual internships may be available.
Statistics & Decision Sciences (SDS) is part of Global Development. The team partners across multidisciplinary groups to apply statistical reasoning, data science, and computing solutions to drug development decisions. Summer internships are open to graduate students working toward a degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, or a related quantitative discipline. Undergraduate students should apply through the separate GD U.S. Summer Internship posting.
Interns will work with practicing statisticians and computing science specialists to learn about applied statistical needs in clinical and nonclinical pharmaceutical settings. The team benefits from the students' academic training, and interns gain professional development and a first-hand look at possible future employment.
Interns will contribute to Research & Development programs in immunology, oncology, neuroscience, cardiopulmonary, or across the portfolio. Work spans the drug development lifecycle, from drug discovery through Phase 2 and 3 clinical studies and pharmaceutical manufacturing. Typical activities include data preparation, graphical data exploration, data visualization, statistical modeling and analysis, reproducible analytics, report writing, and developing computer programs or software applications that support study design and statistical analyses. Additional opportunities may include designing experiments, running simulations to evaluate study designs, and contributing to statistical methodology development.
Each intern will complete one or more defined projects with guidance from experienced statisticians or computing scientists, and will take part in mentoring, networking, and professional development activities.
Remote work flexibility may be available. A housing stipend may be available for eligible on-site interns.
This posting is for graduate students only. Undergraduate students in the U.S. should apply for the Global Development Summer Internship posting instead.
