Johnson & Johnson believes health is everything. The company works to prevent, treat, and cure complex diseases through its Innovative Medicine and MedTech businesses. More information is available at jnj.com.
Patients inform the science behind Johnson & Johnson's Innovative Medicine work. Its Oncology team works to eliminate cancer by discovering new pathways and modalities, and it looks for innovators committed to results. Interns help move work from the lab to patients.
The Global Oncology Internship Program offers students a learning and professional experience at a major health care company. It is designed to build a talent pool of candidates who may apply for other Johnson & Johnson opportunities after finishing their degree. The internship is a full-time role of about 3 months (May 10 to August 13, 2027).
The program follows a hybrid model for roles that are not lab based. Interns would be on site three days a week and could work remotely two days a week.
As a summer intern in Clinical Pharmacology & Pharmacometrics (CPP), you will join a global matrixed team focused on research and development of oncology therapeutics. Work includes executing clinical strategies and supporting the clinical and operational implementation of compound programs in Phase I to III oncology studies. Each intern is assigned a mentor and may contribute projects within their function.
The CPP intern may support Cross-Functional Trial Team (CFTT) activities and collaborate with other project teams. Interns present their work to project teams and the Oncology Senior Leadership Team, and they present their primary research project as a poster or abstract at the annual global summer intern research symposium near the end of the internship.
The program aims to give undergraduate and graduate students experience in a large pharmaceutical R&D setting and a basic understanding of drug development science and process. Interns learn about disease states, diagnosis, treatments, and the mechanisms of emerging drugs in clinical trials. They also receive training on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), function specific training, and related systems and tools.
