The Software Engineering team builds next-generation software application enhancements and new products for a changing world. Working at the cutting edge, the team designs and develops software for platforms, peripherals, applications and diagnostics, using advanced technologies, tools, software engineering methodologies and collaboration with internal and external partners.

As a Software Engineer Intern on the Client Solutions Group Engineering team in Austin, Texas, you will do strong work early in your career and make a meaningful social impact.

What you will achieve

Your main responsibility will be developing software solutions and tools for Dell's enterprise products, including middleware components, applications, user interfaces and cloud software layers. The software you develop or validate will run on millions of Dell devices worldwide and on Dell's large ecommerce website. Dell is looking for interns who take accountability, adapt easily to a fast-changing business, and are customer focused, results driven, innovative, good team players and act with integrity.

You will:

• Work closely with technologists and experienced developers using the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) to take a project from concept through completion, including design, implementation, integration, validation strategy and debug
• Write production quality software using industry standard coding practices
• Build highly available, highly scalable client-side and/or server-side software that solves real user problems
• Work with external partners and Dell technology, marketing, engineering and validation teams to create solutions for Windows, iOS or Android platforms
• Develop software in small teams (6-12 engineers) using the Agile Scrum process

Essential Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an Engineering, Technology, or Computer Science undergraduate degree with a graduation date of December 2027 or May 2028
• Understanding of Computer Science foundations and basic knowledge of the Software Development Cycle
• Strong coding skills in C, C++, Java, or front-end web frameworks like React or Angular, with emphasis on scalable code on Linux, Windows, Android or iOS
• Basic understanding of X86 and ARM architecture, and Linux and Windows operating system fundamentals

Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range for this position is $29.60-$31.80.
