Health Summer 2027 Internship in Hartford, CT

Position Summary

The Provider Network Strategy & Operations Internship is an 11-week full-time program running from May 24, 2027 to August 4, 2027.

This is a hybrid role with 3 days in the Hartford, CT office (generally Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday). The other 2 days each week can be worked remotely from home, the office, or another location of your choice. Relocation assistance may be provided for qualifying candidates.

As a Corporate Intern, you will participate in:

The hourly rate is $26/hr for 40 hours per week. The program includes no work on July 4th (company holiday) and two days of paid leave. Corporate interns also have an increased likelihood of receiving an offer for a future role with CVS Health.

Sponsorship

Work visa sponsorship is not available for this role, including Curricular Practical Training (CPT), Optional Practical Training (OPT) and F-1 visa programs.

About the Business Area

The Northeast Provider Network organization manages relationships with healthcare providers and health systems across the Northeast region. The team negotiates provider contracts, supports value-based care initiatives, monitors contract performance, offers provider service support, promotes use of online tools, and develops strategies to deliver high-quality, affordable healthcare to members.

By partnering with providers and internal business teams, the organization helps the provider network deliver value for members and advances CVS Health's commitment to improving health outcomes. The team plays a key role in network strategy, operational performance and long-term business growth.

You Will Gain Valuable Work Experience and Participate In:

• Supporting provider contract management and negotiation through research, analysis, documentation and tracking of key deliverables
• Developing project management skills by coordinating timelines, milestones, governance activities and strategic initiatives
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams on provider network priorities and operational objectives
• Assisting in developing executive-ready reports, presentations and business updates for leadership teams
• Learning how healthcare organizations manage provider relationships, network performance and value-based care arrangements
• Creating and maintaining reporting tools, dashboards and tracking mechanisms that support business decisions
• Participating in governance and Joint Operating Committee activities to gain exposure to provider partnership management
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes, reporting capabilities and operational efficiency across the organization

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership experience, such as active roles in student or social organizations, sports, or school or work-related projects
• Internship, work or project experience in a related field
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Interest in obtaining a full-time position with CVS Health upon graduation
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office applications
• Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot or other AI-enabled productivity tools
• Interest in provider network management, healthcare operations, healthcare administration or business strategy
• Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and manage multiple priorities
