Position Summary

The Innovation & Technology - Data Engineering Internship is a 10.5-week full-time opportunity running from May 24, 2027 to August 4, 2027.

This hybrid role is based in New York, NY, with three in-office days per week, generally Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The other two days may be worked remotely from home or another location of your choice. Relocation assistance is provided for candidates who need to move more than 50 miles.

The Role

As a Data Engineering intern, you will help build the data foundations that power analytics, machine learning, and AI across the business. You will work alongside experienced data engineers, data scientists, and business partners to develop data pipelines, integrate data from multiple sources, and keep large-scale health care data reliable and ready for use.

You will have opportunities to:

• Build, test, and maintain data pipelines that extract, transform, and load data
• Integrate structured and unstructured data from multiple sources and systems
• Implement data quality checks to keep data accurate, complete, and consistent
• Develop and deploy data solutions in cloud environments
• Contribute to solutions that improve health care quality, affordability, and outcomes

Preferred qualifications include knowledge of data warehousing and ETL concepts, experience building data engineering solutions in cloud environments (GCP preferred), familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Bash/UNIX scripting, and experience integrating data from APIs and disparate sources. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, along with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, are also valued.
