Health Software Engineering Intern in New York

Position Summary

This is a 10.5-week full-time internship that starts on May 24, 2027 and ends on August 4, 2027.

The role is hybrid and based in New York, NY, with three in-office days per week, generally Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The other two days may be worked remotely from home or another location of your choice. Relocation assistance is provided for candidates who need to move more than 50 miles.

The Innovation & Technology internship also includes a Leadership Insight Series with leader spotlights and interactive Q&A sessions, an Intern Innovation Challenge that lets you collaborate with other interns, and learning sessions on presentations and storytelling, emerging technology and AI tools.

The internship pays $42 per hour for a 40-hour workweek. It includes two days of paid leave and no work on the July 4 company holiday. Corporate interns also have an increased likelihood of receiving an offer for a future role with CVS Health.

Role Details

As a Software Engineering intern, you will build software that brings data and AI into real-world applications. You will work alongside experienced software engineers, data engineers and product partners to develop APIs and backend services, connect applications with enterprise data, and help deliver AI-enabled solutions in the cloud.

You will have opportunities to:

• Design, build and test applications, APIs and microservices
• Develop data integrations and services that connect applications with enterprise data
• Contribute to AI and Generative AI solutions, including LLM-powered applications, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and automation
• Deploy and troubleshoot cloud-native solutions using code reviews, automated testing and CI/CD
• Contribute to solutions that improve health care quality, affordability and outcomes
