Summer Technology Analyst Program

Citi's Summer Technology Analyst Program is designed for forward-thinking students who want to innovate and make an impact at a global financial institution. Citi Technology supports the firm's platforms so they can perform for clients worldwide, using innovation and automation to deliver a high-quality client experience. Citi has over 30,000 technologists globally.

The Summer Analyst Program begins in early June with training on the fundamentals of the Analyst role and Citi's culture. The program also includes on-the-desk training, a speaker series, and networking opportunities. Many Summer Analysts return to Citi after graduation as Full-Time Analysts.

The Production Support Team

The Production Support team maintains and optimizes critical live production systems to keep them healthy, stable, and performing well. Analysts resolve issues of varying severity and complexity, and they often act as the bridge between technology and the business. This role combines business knowledge with technical expertise to troubleshoot problems and build robust solutions. The core goal is to keep production stable and resilient for clients, working with developers and business teams to monitor applications in real time.

Analysts will have exposure to the following areas:

  • Incident and Problem Management: Support clients through the full lifecycle of incidents and problems, and build problem-solving skills under pressure.
  • Monitoring and Alerting: Help improve monitoring systems using tools such as ITRS Geneos and Grafana to detect and alert on production issues early.
  • Tooling and Automation: Design, develop, and implement custom applications and scripts that automate processes and improve efficiency.
  • Technical Growth: Develop skills in Linux/Unix, databases (SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL), Python automation, application servers, web technologies, networking, and exposure to cloud and Kubernetes.

Other Technology Areas

Depending on the team, analysts may also gain exposure to the following:

  • Microservices Development: Java, Spring Framework, Pivotal Cloud Foundry
  • Front-End Web Development: React or Angular, Apigee, TypeScript, HTML5
  • Generative AI and AI Agents: GitHub Copilot, automated code review tools, prompt engineering, workflow design, and GenAI optimization
  • Data Analytics: Splunk, Tableau, and Adobe Analytics to track customer adoption and measure the business value of products

What You Can Expect

  • Global Exposure: Work on globally scoped projects with cross-functional teams.
  • Continuous Learning: Structured learning, mentoring, and development programs to build your technical and business skills.
  • Real Impact: Contribute to projects that shape the future of banking, from digital banking solutions to cybersecurity and data-driven innovation.

Who Will Thrive Here

Citi looks for people who are curious, ambitious, and passionate about business and technology. The program suits candidates who want to apply technology to the global financial industry and grow into future tech leaders.
