The company's purpose-driven culture pushes the team to discover, develop, and deliver innovative medicines for serious diseases. Work here offers meaningful growth opportunities in an environment that values inclusion, wellbeing, flexibility, and comprehensive benefits.

Position Summary

In this role you will support the company's environment, health and safety efforts at the Summit site. The goal is to help develop, plan, organize, and carry out strategies that keep the facility safe, healthy, and environmentally compliant. You will help build a proactive, integrated EHSS culture across the site, acting in line with the BMS values of integrity, inclusion, passion, innovation, urgency, and accountability.

As part of the site EHSS team, you will learn how site operations and Environmental Health and Safety work together to support the mission of supplying Cell Therapy products to patients in need.

This person is expected to be on-site at Summit West 4-5 days per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support continuous improvement of the site EHSS culture through safety communications, employee engagement, and awareness initiatives.
  • Maintain and improve EHSS internal websites and SharePoint sites so program resources, communications, and reference materials stay accurate, organized, and accessible.
  • Support EHSS programs and onsite activities by assisting with data collection, documentation, inspections, communications, and follow-up actions under the guidance of EHSS team members.
  • Apply EHSS program requirements while learning how safety and environmental controls support manufacturing operations.
  • Take part in EHSS operational meetings and committees by helping prepare materials, recording key takeaways, and tracking assigned follow-up actions.
  • Help maintain, implement, and improve EHSS programs in line with applicable federal, state, and local requirements and internal standards.
  • Work with site teams and cross-functional partners to support EHSS initiatives and strengthen the site EHSS management system.
  • Build working relationships with EHSS team members and contribute to a collaborative, inclusive, learning-focused team.

Pay for this internship is set according to local market practices and applicable laws. It may be offered as an hourly rate and/or monthly stipend. Pay depends on factors such as academic level, relevant experience, skills, and work location.
