Workday launched the Enterprise Data and Analytics (ED&A) team in 2024 to improve how Workday creates and shares trusted data for actionable insights and data-led innovation across the company.
As an Analytics Engineer Intern, you will focus on high-quality technical execution, data curiosity, and fast skill growth within the ED&A data transformation lifecycle. You will work under the direct guidance of senior engineering leaders to turn raw data ingestion streams into structured, reliable data assets that support business intelligence frameworks.
Your technical work centers on writing clean, modular dbt code within our repository controls, logging schema updates, and making raw inputs easy to discover as data views.
You will also build foundational data literacy, collaborate with peers in squad rituals, and learn how data connects to business metrics while getting familiar with Workday's enterprise systems. You will be expected to adopt AI productivity tools, including Sana and Gemini, to reduce routine reporting work, automate standard documentation, and expand your capacity.
You will also take part in Early Career Programs designed to help you succeed throughout your internship.
The in-person internship gives you meaningful projects and a chance to see how your ideas can shape the future of work. Interns build enterprise skills through applied learning, personal coaching, and connection events.
As a member of the Product & Technology org, you can join the P&T Atmosphere program, which offers tailored technical training and deep dives into the Workday ecosystem. It connects you with P&T leaders and peers to help accelerate your technical career.
