About the Team

Workday's Security Organization is a group of dedicated professionals who protect customers and the company. The team acts as security advisors to the business and works with Legal, Compliance, Product Development, Business Technology, and other groups to maintain a secure environment.

The team covers a range of security domains, including threat detection, vulnerability management, and enterprise identity. It secures Workday's corporate systems, infrastructure, and data at scale.

About the Role

As a Cybersecurity Engineer Intern, you will join experienced security professionals and help protect Workday's technologies, from applications and services to underlying infrastructure. This is a hands-on role where you will apply your cybersecurity knowledge, automation skills, and curiosity to real security challenges.

You will help build security into how Workday develops and operates technology. You will gain experience assessing technical architecture, reviewing enterprise applications, developing automation, and working with business and technology teams to resolve security concerns.

Responsibilities:

  • Help deliver security into Workday's technologies and support security as a core part of how the company builds and operates systems
  • Assess and review the security of technical architecture and enterprise applications
  • Develop and deploy tools, scripts, or automation to improve security across the Workday platform
  • Collaborate with business and technology teams to understand security concerns, support remediation, and reduce risk
  • Use ticketing systems such as Jira to track work, document findings, and support team workflows
  • Explore security-relevant uses of AI or Agentic AI concepts while learning from experienced professionals

During the in-person internship, you will work on meaningful projects, build enterprise skills through applied learning and personalized coaching, and attend connection events for Early Talent.

P&T Atmosphere

As a member of the Product & Technology organization, you will join the P&T Atmosphere program. It offers tailored technical training and deep dives into the Workday ecosystem, and connects you with P&T leaders and peers.

Our Approach to Flexible Work

Workday combines in-person time with remote work. Teams spend at least half (50%) of their time each quarter in the office or in the field with customers, prospects, and partners, depending on the role.
