Job Description

Visa's Internship Program is a 12-week experience where you will work on projects that move Visa's mission forward. You will build connections across the organization, sharpen your communication and business skills, and gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, global setting.

Throughout the program, you will have access to interactive workshops and learning sessions to deepen your expertise and expand your industry knowledge. You will also take part in intern social events held throughout the summer.

The program ends with a final presentation, where you will share your project results, key insights, and recommendations with Visa's leaders and stakeholders.

Data is central to Visa's strategy, innovation, and long-term growth. Visa is expanding its data capabilities, strengthening its data-driven products, and finding new ways to support the future of digital payments, guided by its Data Values and its commitment to responsible data use.

The Data & AI Team, led by the Chief Data Officer, owns strategic initiatives covering data business strategy, product development, investment priorities, governance, policy, and marketplace execution. The team works closely with the Chief Privacy Officer, Technology teams, business units, regional teams, and the wider Visa data community.

The Data & AI Team is looking for Data Science interns to help develop insights, analytical frameworks, and models that inform business strategy, product development, operational performance, and client outcomes. You will work with partners across data science, product, technology, data & analytics, privacy, governance, and regional and global business teams.

You may support exploratory data analysis, feature development, statistical modeling, machine learning, experimentation, forecasting, performance measurement, and decision modeling. You will help turn data into actionable insights and support model-informed decisions that improve products, platforms, customer experiences, and business outcomes.

All Visa roles require digital fluency, including the ability to work with emerging technologies such as Generative AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot) to support everyday work.

Potential Responsibilities

  • Analyze large-scale datasets using modern, cloud-based data and analytics platforms, applying tools such as Claude Code, Python, SQL, Spark, and other cloud-native technologies.
  • Use governed data assets and reusable pipelines to run exploratory analysis, develop features, evaluate trends, and generate insights for business, product, client, and operational use cases.
  • Apply data science and decision science methods, including statistical analysis, machine learning, experimentation, forecasting, segmentation, optimization, performance measurement, and decision modeling.
  • Develop and evaluate models and decision frameworks that help teams assess business opportunities and tradeoffs and make responsible, data-informed decisions.
  • Create and improve dashboards and visualizations using platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, and conversational BI tools to communicate trends, metrics, and performance.
  • Turn analytical findings into actionable recommendations and explain insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across data science, product, technology, data & analytics, privacy, governance, and regional and global partners.
  • Recommend improvements to analytical workflows, tools, and processes with a focus on scalability, reuse, automation, and long-term business value.

Visa requires at least 3 days in office each week. Your Hiring Manager will confirm expectations for these days.
