Job Description

Visa's Internship Program is a 12-week immersive experience. Interns contribute to meaningful client projects, build cross-functional relationships, and develop professional skills through curated workshops and mentorship. The program ends with a final presentation to Visa leaders showcasing your impact and growth. Interns also take part in social events throughout the summer.

Visa Consulting and Analytics (VCA) drives tangible, financial results for Visa's network clients, including issuers, merchant acquirers and merchants. Drawing on strategy consulting, data analytics, brand management, marketing, operations and macroeconomics, VCA solves some of the most strategic problems for its clients.

Typical projects may include questions such as:

• How does a financial institution increase market share in consumer credit cards?
• How should a credit card issuer use emerging technology to acquire the best customers?
• How does a financial institution grow its credit card portfolio while mitigating credit risk?
• How does a financial institution optimize its product offering?
• How does a merchant partner identify market expansion opportunities?
• How does a merchant co-brand partner accelerate on-premise acquisitions?

Responsibilities

• Play an integral role on a team of experienced professionals delivering strategic consulting services to key Visa clients.
• Complete consulting engagements with team members, including taking part in interviews, analyzing confidential client data, and summarizing key findings.
• Conduct industry research and identify internal and external data sources to build custom analytics.
• Analyze client data, identify preliminary trends and themes, develop client-specific presentations for executive audiences, and present to clients and internal Visa partners.

Interns who show strong performance and alignment with Visa's values will be considered for full-time opportunities in the Atlanta office.

All Visa roles require digital fluency, including the ability to work with emerging technologies such as Generative AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot) to support everyday work.

Visa requires at least 3 days in office each week. Your Hiring Manager will confirm expectations for these days.

Preferred Qualifications

• Excellent client-facing communication, storytelling and presentation skills, with the ability to turn findings into action-driven recommendations.
• Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to process and summarize large amounts of data into key strategic insights.
• Ability to form hypotheses on the root causes of client issues and validate them quickly using data.
• Knowledge of finance and accounting is a plus.
• Strong team player who collaborates across levels and with functional experts.
• Strong multi-tasking skills and ability to adapt.
• Strong intellectual curiosity to understand root causes and how to drive value for clients.
• Proficient, and ideally a power user, of spreadsheet and presentation tools.
• An interest in learning advanced analytics tools (SAS, R, Tableau, etc.).
• An interest in payments, financial institutions or consumer lending is a plus.
• An affinity for payments technology and its future.

Work Details

Work hours vary based on the needs of the department. Travel of 5-10% of the time is required. The role is performed in an office setting and requires sitting and standing at a desk, communicating in person and by phone, and frequently using standard office equipment.
