Job Description

Micron's Surface Science team supports semiconductor device development by applying modern analytical techniques to materials and processes. The team works across process development and laboratory functions to drive memory technology innovation through surface characterization and analysis.

As a Surface Scientist Intern, you will help develop next-generation memory solutions by applying surface science techniques to semiconductor devices and thin film materials. The internship provides hands-on experience with advanced instruments and collaborative research projects focused on improving sample preparation and characterization methods.

Responsibilities

• Work with Surface Scientists to evaluate and improve sample preparation and analysis techniques.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze data, find process improvement opportunities, and use AI-assisted tools to speed up data interpretation.
• Refine characterization techniques using existing analytical tools and newer digital capabilities.
• Use AI-enabled productivity and research tools for literature reviews, data organization, technical documentation, and workflow efficiency.
• Take part in technical meetings to explore new approaches, technologies, and continuous improvement opportunities.
• Document research findings in reports, presentations, and technical summaries using digital and AI-assisted communication tools.
