About the Role

Micron's RAM (RDA and Metrology) group handles advanced process control and precision measurement that are critical to semiconductor manufacturing. The team focuses on defect detection, inline metrology, and signal analysis to keep process stability and product quality on target. Using statistical methods, automation systems and AI-enabled analytics, the RAM team drives continuous improvement and supports next-generation memory technologies.

The internship offers hands-on experience in semiconductor process integration, with a focus on in-fab measurement performance, RDA signal analysis, process control optimization, and the practical use of AI tools in manufacturing. You will be assigned a project that runs for the full 3-month internship, with training provided for safe and effective work in cleanroom fabrication environments.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze defect and metrology data to identify process trends and anomalies.
  • Use Micron's approved AI tools and machine learning methods to speed up data analysis, defect classification, and reporting.
  • Support process control initiatives using SPC and DOE methodologies.
  • Investigate deviations in measurement results and propose corrective actions.
  • Work with engineers to improve measurement accuracy, tool matching, and data integrity.
  • Assist with tool health monitoring and calibration routines.
  • Work with fab automation systems to troubleshoot data collection and integration issues.
  • Identify repetitive tasks that can be automated or improved with AI, and document the time or quality gains.
  • Take initiative to drive your assigned project to completion.
  • Give a verbal presentation near the end of the internship covering how AI was used and the impact it had on the project.
