About the job

Micron Technology is a world leader in memory and storage solutions that turn information into intelligence. As an AMHS Engineering Intern in the ID1 High Volume Manufacturing Engineering group, you will join the Automated Material Handling System (AMHS) team supporting 300mm semiconductor processes and equipment at a state-of-the-art fabrication facility.

Typical internships run during the summer months in Boise, ID. You will be assigned a scoped project meant to span the full 3-month internship and take up most of your time. Training in safety procedures and in the operations for your assignment is provided. Part of the internship involves work inside the cleanroom fabrication environment. Near the end, you will give a verbal presentation on your project results.

Responsibilities

  • Own a defined summer project that improves AMHS capability, reliability, or throughput, and drive it to completion.
  • Support 300mm fab material handling operations and equipment performance within the ID1 HVM environment.
  • Assist with product defect investigations and with maintaining tools and processes used for R&D experiments.
  • Work with fab tool automation systems and software, and resolve routine automation errors as they arise.
  • Apply AI-enabled tools and techniques to support engineering analysis, troubleshooting, data interpretation, documentation, and process improvement.
  • Work with fellow AMHS Engineers on ID1 construction goals, learning how to manage projects and keep construction scheduling on target.
  • Create and document Quality Deviation Reports (QDRs) and/or Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) as needed.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, equipment, process, and software teams to implement improvements.
  • Prepare and deliver a final verbal presentation covering project objectives, approach, results, and next steps.
