Summer 2027 Co-op Utility Engineering in Swiftwater, PA

About the Role

Sanofi is looking for a motivated Summer Co-op to join the Utility Engineering team within Manufacturing and Supply Engineering and Maintenance. You will help develop and carry out preventive and predictive maintenance plans for GMP pharmaceutical process equipment, in line with manufacturer recommendations, industry standards and process requirements.

You will spend 25–40% of your time in the field alongside experienced engineers and maintenance professionals. Through mentoring and hands-on work, you will learn how utility systems, components and sub-systems run in an active cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practice) manufacturing environment.

You will work with cross-functional teams, support site-wide initiatives and complete all required GMP and GxP training. You will also build skills in reading maintenance job plans, engineering specifications and schematics, and gain working knowledge of the SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.

Main Responsibilities

• Conduct criticality and gap assessments for utility equipment and components
• Develop and analyze historical maintenance trends to support periodic equipment reviews
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and assist with documenting deviations
• Investigate utility equipment failures and contribute to formal investigation reports
• Support equipment changes through the Change Control and CAPA processes
• Update engineering drawings and technical procedures to reflect current equipment status
• Specify and source replacement parts for critical equipment
• Capture and document user requirements for utility systems and equipment
• Conduct utility equipment walkdowns to assess condition and performance
• Define and maintain spare parts lists for assigned equipment

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $27.00 to $35.00 USD hourly. Compensation will be determined based on demonstrated experience.
