The Co-op sits in the Data and Computational Science (DCS) department within Sanofi's mRNA Center of Excellence (mRNA CoE). You will develop first-principle, machine-learning (ML), and hybrid models, including Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Molecular Dynamics, and Quantum Chemistry simulations, for critical drug-product unit operations such as T-mixing and Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF) to speed up mRNA-based process development.

You will gain hands-on experience with mRNA technology and drug-product formulation and fill-finish operations while applying advanced simulation and modeling techniques. The role offers a chance to contribute to biopharmaceutical research at the intersection of computational science and process engineering.

Main Responsibilities

• Develop and validate first-principle, ML, and hybrid models for drug-product unit operations such as T-mixing and TFF, working with your supervisor and cross-functional colleagues.
• Apply CFD, Molecular Dynamics, and/or Quantum Chemistry simulations to study mixing behavior, nanoparticle formation, or molecular-level interactions relevant to lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulation.
• Investigate how process parameters affect critical quality attributes (CQAs) and quantify the related uncertainties using statistical and computational methods.
• Design and run Design of Experiments (DoE) for model structure selection, parameter estimation, and process optimization.
• Analyze experimental and simulation data to produce insights that inform process development decisions.
• Document modeling workflows, results, and recommendations in clear technical reports and presentations.
